SCHOOL OVERVIEW

San Nicolas Elementary School, formerly the Dasmariñas Bagong Bayan Elementary School – D, was formally opened in the school year 1982 – 1983. There were 10 pioneered teachers. It was under the supervision of Mr. Jose S. delos Reyes, the District Supervisor and Mrs. Ester Sarroca as Teacher In-charge.

The School has a total land area of 11, 322 sq.m. and located at Barangay San Nicolas I. It is surrounded by different barangays namely: Luzviminda I and II, Fatima I, II and III, San Mateo and San Nicolas II.

The school for thirty seven (37) years was supervised by different administrators: Mrs. Gregoria Nono, S.Y 1984 – 1985, Ms. Maria C. Presco from 1985 – 1996, Dr. Edna C. Papa from 1998 – 1999, Mrs. Cleotilde S. Villanueva from 1999 – 2004, Dr. Wilhelmina C. Pareja from 2004 – 2008, Dorotea A. Estebat from 2008 – 2010, Mrs. Gloria A. Catsao from 2010 – 2013, Dr. Antonia P. Arias from 2014 - 2016. At present, it is under the leadership of Dr. Refuga D. Duran as Principal IV.

Due to increase of enrollment and shortage of teachers, more teachers were hired and more buildings were constructed to cope up with the increasing population. More projects were accomplished under their leadership.

The schools don’t lag behind with other schools in the cluster in terms of academic achievement and in the field of sports.

The sanctuary of the people of San Nicolas has undergone a lot of transformations indeed all through those years, the same way with the community’s undying spirit of oneness and deep faith in progress. This started on August 1980 when National Housing Authority resettled almost a hundred families from Bonifacio Village, Tondo, and Manila. Then, San Nicolas was still part of the neighbor Barangay Luzviminda. At that time, it was under the leadership of Mr. Domingo as Officer In-charge of the said jurisdiction.

From August 1981 to 1985, such changes invite a thorough restudy of the structure with its administration to be given due emphasis for much revolutionized operation. San Nicolas Block-D has been occupied by San Mateo under Mr. Conrado Mercado as the Barangay Captain. The blocks governed were block- D, Block-7 and Block-E.R

The complexity of the jurisdiction set up has finally taken into account after four years; San Nicolas had been separated from San Mateo. They finally settled that an individual to fulfil the bringing up of the interest of the community must spearhead it. Finally, he was Mr. Bobby Drabe who took over.

No community will ever be flourished without the heightened desire of a productive leader. So in 1987, Mrs. Lydia Croole was elected Barangay Chairman. Chapel, outpost and stage had been built through government funds in her term.

Due to the increasing population, San Nicolas was divided into San Nicolas I & II. Both have its set of barangay officials but still San Nicolas served as the Mother Barangay. From 1989 to 2002, Mr. JovitoPaciones headed San Nicolas.

More barangay projects were constructed such as barangay hall, path walk, stage and streetlights.

On May 14, 2002, Mr. Narciso Tarce, Barangay Chairman, with the help of the council succeeded in putting up more street lights, path walks, a Day Care Center and beautification of the stage and chapel. On October 2018, up to the present, it was under the leadership of Rolando Villalobos as the Barangay Chairman.
